A fun challenge

February 4, 2006

Here is a video that is a promotional piece for Otis College of Art + Design. The video makers, Shadowplay, originally made the film cut to a song in 15/16 time (!). I had to transcribe the song, then take the notes out, leaving the skeleton of a time signature with indications where important “hits” needed to be. The music was composed using Apple’s Logic Pro.

Hi, Amazing music. Do you think I can download the music file?

Click on “video” to watch the video. You should be able to download the Quicktime video to your computer here. From here, go into Quicktime (it may be the Pro version) and extract the music. That’s the only way I know how to do it.

Thank you. But I was actually referring to the actual music file. I thought there were different versions because I saw a slightly different version in this video http://vimeo.com/2165451 . Did you compose this version too?

A ha! That was the temp music that I had to emulate, as it cost too much to use that music! I don’t remember who the original artists were. Good luck!
