Beatles: Pyramus and Thisbe (TV)

March 5, 2007

Here is an old clip of the Beatles “doing” Shakespeare for die hard Beatles fans.

Q: “Fellas, did you enjoy doing the Shakespearian excerpt in your TV show?”

GEORGE: “Yeah, except he made us rehearse for days!”

JOHN: “And we STILL got it wrong!”

(laughter)

Q: “Would you like to play legitimate Shakespeare?”

BEATLES: (in unison) “No.”

JOHN: “…can’t stand it.”

Q: “Did you like the costumes?”

GEORGE: “Yeah, they were good for a laugh.”

JOHN: “Mod.”

PAUL: (laughs)

GEORGE: (remembering a line) “‘What lantern doth the horned moon present?’”
