Yes, at the beginning of this clip is a very cute Clint Eastwood riding off into the sunset, But Wait!! We get to hear the famous Dimitri Tiomkin cowboy classic “Rawhide.” I don’t know who the singer is, but what a voice! I’ve sung it my whole life. Some mornings I get up and just wanna sing “RAW-HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDE! Yeah!” I know, it’s the testosterone.

The singer is Frankie Laine, whom we lost last year. I actually prize his rendition of the eponymous opening tune in Blazing Saddles as much or more than Rawhide. Of course the movie tune is a parody of Rawhide and related others, including the whip cracking.
Here’s an obit:

Ah must have been a glitch, or maybe it was upset by the link I pasted in.
Frankie Laine sang Rawhide. We lost him last year (the obit link in the LA Times was what I attempted—it’s easily found in a Google search).
I also highly prized his rendition of the clear parody song, the title track complete with whip cracks, at the opening of Blazing Saddles.
You were there in my spam folder for blogs, right next to propecia and the fortune I’m about to make from some dude in India. Thanks for being persistent Brad.
Thanks Roger. And now everyone gets to see which version of my reply they prefer LOL.
But hey, be careful about what you call spam. I’ve discovered those penis reduction products really work!!
