I'm also reminded of the anecdote I first heard related by Jim Svejda, about Schoenberg being told the comments of a graphologist who had viewed his handwriting, who said "This man thinks he is at least the Emperor of China". Allegedly Schoenberg's response was "So? Did he believe I was justified?" "I hear that the Emperor of China, Wears iron shoes with ease..." (from Waltz of the New Moon, The Incredible String Band).
