I once read that Yeats was a member of Annie Besant’s group (2nd generation Theosophists), a group that included Alexander Scriabin as a member, and old William used to cause a ruckus by insisting on having a vision. He was eventually asked to leave the group, which he did. He may have had his own personal vision as manifested by his late work “A Vision.”
