Here is a new trailer for the newly restored RULES OF THE GAME by Jean Renoir. The film is brilliant, brilliant, brilliant! Why did it take me so long to find this? Robert Altman states: “The Rules of the Game” taught me the rules of the game. If you’ve not seen it, do. (It is in French w/ English subtitles.)

    Amazingly I have that on DVD and heven’t gotten around to watching it yet. Maybe tonight’s the night ;)

    Rules of the Game is (though I also love “Grand Illusion” and “Boudu Saved from Drowning”) my favorite movie of all time. The restored copies available from the Criterion Collection are delightful.
