Parsons-Etheridge: She (Norah Jones)
An excellent and faithful cover of Gram Parsons and Chris Etheridge’s song “She.” Norah does a great job, but there is a heart wrenching passion in Gram’s peformance that is unique to him. A tasty song; should become a standard. Maybe Nora will make it so.

That is quite delectable, and that young woman has a voice and face that drives me wild, but I thought I might bring up something that has crossed my mind lately that this video raises.
Somewhere in the last decade, the upright, string bass came to have a certain visual caché. One would see it being used in videos where it wasn’t on the track. Perhaps there is some kind of authenticity connected to its presence. But I do not think it is always the right instrument for the kick drum-bass matchup you neeed for most pop bottom end, and I think that might be the case here. What do you think?

I agree. Probably a tighter match with an electric bass, but as you know, there are some amazing upright bass players out there.
