STOP

I noticed that two of our Deans in the School of Arts and Architecture took little vacations mid-year. Although some might think this decadent, or irresponsible I have come to realize that leadership jobs are very stressful, and sometimes you have to just STOP. And the best way to do this is to get out of town. Lately, I just work all the time, all day long. If I’ve had a good day, I might reward myself by watching a movie on DVD and too often I fall asleep, even during heavy violent scenes. I guess I need a break.

My high energy output of doing nothing but being Chair and composing HOMER is starting to catch up with me. But, I have to just power through it and get the piece done and THEN I can have my life back. I’m not complaining, I just feel an overwhelming desire to STOP.
