Missing Citrus

January 20, 2008

My parents are moving to a smaller home soon, one with a much smaller yard. I asked what they’d miss the most about their present house: “the citrus.” I have some friends who are considering relocating in the midwest. What would you miss most about Los Angeles? I asked: “the citrus.” We have two citrus […]

Crop Circles on Google Earth

January 18, 2008

Speaks for itself. Is it a hoax? A natural phenomenon? A miracle? Who knows? It’s cool whatever it is. I do have several books on the crop circle phenomenon and have seen quite a few TV shows on it, but I just don’t know. I assume it’s a hoax. via videosift.com

Leave it to the French to come up with nifty inventions to sell their wine. Perfect as a stocking stuffer. Must be 18 or older in the US.

Naughty notes

November 9, 2007

This just in from Angus (who else?). A perfect inspiration for a wonderful weekend for all you sexy musicians (and non-musicians as well) out there. This naughty prelude is in D flat (major I presume) with one flat on the D line. Hmmm. The time signature is in 2/2, sounds right. But why D flat? […]

Welcome to the 21st century of sports. For some countries, the fact that the International Gay and […]

The Smirking Chimp dug up a marvelous piece of reseearch from Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health, is entitled “Elvis to Eminem: Quantifying the price of fame through early mortality of European and North American rock and pop stars.” Why am I not surprised that rock stars’ health is not as robust as they get […]

Here is one of the most popular videos that bloggers post. Some bossy queen trapped in a Filipino prison convinced the prison warden to turn the prison into a movement class. So much fun!

Mellow yellow on steroids

August 9, 2007

I’m sure you’ve read those little articles that show how various combinations of vinegar, baking soda, eye of newt and wing of bat can clean almost anything in your house. Back in the 1960s, there was a craze to scrape banana peels and smoke it, in hopes of getting high. I don’t remember trying that, […]
