My father and his two sisters sent me most of their family photographs which I have been scanning and disseminating to the family and other interested friends and relatives. This weekend I dug into a large group of photos collected mostly by my paternal grandmother when she was in her teens and twenties (ca.1915-1929) and a handful of late snapshots of Ardis Bourland, or “Granny” as we called her. She had a lot of personality to put it mildly, but I never really knew her well. It was rewarding to spend time with her even if only in picture, before my father was a sparkle in her eyes — and boy, can her eyes sparkle.
